The main purpose of eCatalog is to index the library holdings and provide information about them including, their location and availability This may be all you need; a login is not required to use eCatalog to find this information. However, once you have a library barcode*, you can use the features in My Account. You will be issued a barcode the first time you check out a book. To access your account, click on either Log In or My Account in the header at the top of the page. Your username is your 10 digit barcode (they all start with 20000) and your PIN is the last 5 digits of the barcode. You may change your PIN on the Personal Information tab of My Account.

Your account will show you what items you have checked out, when they are due, and any holds or fines that you may have. You may also renew items in your Checkouts section providing you do not have any outstanding fines.

Working with My Lists

As mentioned before, you may create a Temporary List without logging into your account. Just mark the items you are interested in and use the Select an Action menu to add them to your list. When you exit from eCatalog, your list will not be saved. However, you can create a permanent list by logging into your account first then selecting books to put on your list. You may even create multiple custom lists. To do this, click on My Lists, then on the plus sign (+) to create a new list. When you select a book from the results list, you may then specify the list. These lists will be saved but can be deleted by using the minus (-) sign.

Placing a Hold

When an item is checked out, a Place a Hold button will appear next to it. Use this button or the Select an Action menu to place a hold on this item. If you are not already logged into your account, you will be prompted to do so; the item you placed on hold will now appear in your account. You will be notified when it is available.

* Don't have a barcode? Bring your student ID card to the circulation desk in the library to obtain one. If you are a distance student, contact the library to set up your account.
